When the Ford Focus FR200 showed up in the movie “2 Fast 2 Furious,” which was the second release in the hit movie franchise “Fast & Furious,” heads were turned. Thus, the FR200 media craze had begun.
Ford Racing invited Paul Walker to the proving grounds to test drive the silver Ford Focus FR200 concept car that was to be in the movie. Legend has it that Paul attempted a “burnout” but ended up burning out the clutch instead that took two days to repair. Paul was extremely apologetic and cool about the whole deal… a class act.
Below are scenes that show the silver Ford Focus FR200 in scenes from “2 Fast 2 Furious.” The FR200 was too powerful and unique of a car to be used for smashing and crashing like the rest of the cars in the “Fast & Furious” movies, especially since it was a one-of-a-kind concept car. It sure looked cool with the killer paint job and 304 hp of turbocharged muscle, just knowing that it could blow the rest of those movie cars away.
Fast & Furious
A tribute to the Fast & Furious man himself. Rest in peace, Paul Walker.
